Dear Pastor ___________,
Thank you for your message. It is not surprising that you should be wondering about the discrepancy in wording between 21MR and 2SM. Here's the explanation:
First, let me confirm for you that the reading in 2SM is correct. And so is the reading in 21MR! The reason for the discrepancy is that the word "drums" was inserted by Ellen White (in her own handwriting) as an addition to the typescript copy in our files. This is the copy that was used in 2SM. In retyping the letter for 21MR, the typist likely worked from a copy of the letter that did not have this interlineation. We have made note of the omission and the next time 21MR is reprinted we will include the "omitted insertion." Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and may God bless you in your ministry.

Dear friends at the EGW Estate:
Doing some careful research, I have come across what appears to be a contradiction in the wording of Letter 132, 1900 by Ellen White. A sentence quoted in Selected Messages 2:36 par. 2 says There will be shouting, with drums, music, and dancing. The same sentence quoted from Manuscript Releases, 21:126 par. 5 says There will be shouting, with music and dancing. According to my CD-ROM disk of The Published Ellen G. White Writings, Manuscript Releases, 21 contains a release of the "entire letter."
My question is this: Did Ellen White mention drums or not in this letter? And why is there a discrepancy in the sources?
If you have anything published on this letter, I would appreciate having a look at it.
Thank you very much.
May God bless your important ministry!
